Of Love & Light

Of Love and Light was created to share my experience as a twenty-something trying to gain my footing on life. You will find honest self-reflection about searching for balance in work, play, and faith. I’ll also share a few of my favorite tips, tricks, and recommendations I’ve learned on the way.

When I look around, everyone else in my surroundings is also in a transformative space in some way, shape, or form regardless of age or experience. Of course, it doesn’t look the same for everyone, but we somehow face similar challenges personally and professionally. I’m learning a lot about myself as I try to take an introspective look on how I move through the world. This reflective space was created to bring encouragement and inspiration through an exchange of energy and ideas. The ultimate goal is to create a community for empowerment and support.

Behind the Name

Everything should be done in love. Here, it will represent the strength of having a loving supportive community. Light represents the spiritual and personal growth we are all experiencing. We are called to share and shine our light to others to ultimately glorify God.

Who Am I…

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.” Proverbs 31:25-26

This is an affirmation of what is and what is to come. I may not be there yet, but join me as I strive to make the changes to become the woman I want to be.

I was born and raised in D.C. and am a Philadelphia transplant by way of Temple University. I’ve entered a new chapter. Not just one, but several that have simultaneously started with no definite ending. Becoming a young professional, a functioning adult, graduate student, reliable friend, and girlfriend are only a few steps on a long journey. Inspired by the words of others and their experiences of growth, I felt the need to create a space for me and others to freely reflect on our own.
